4th Symposium on Space Educational Activities – Barcelona 2022

After the successful event in April 2022, the Proceedings of the 4th Symposium on Space Educational Activities – SSEA Barcelona 2022 have been released!

Dr. Xavi Luri is the director of the Institute of Cosmic Science at Barcelona University (ICCUB). He has been Principal Investigator of several projects of the Spanish National Plan dedicated to the development of Gaia data processing.

Dr. Kebe worked on space debris during her Ph.D., specializing in modeling fragmentation events to monitor the movement of debris. Kebe campaigns to improve access to astronomy and physics, and also empower women in science. She has been recognized as one of the most influential French by Vanity Fair in 2018, and she was awarded a United Nations Alliance of Civilizations fellowship.

Dr. Puig-Suari’s areas of expertise include spacecraft design, low-cost space systems, integration and testing, and vehicle dynamics and control. In 1999, Dr. Puig-Suari and Prof. Bob Twiggs at Stanford developed the CubeSat standard.

Caplin is an astrobiologist at ESA. Currently, she is the coordinator for the ESA Astrobiology Topical Team with a strong focus on Deep Space Gateway. She and her team work for several exobiology research programmes on the International Space Station. She is working with partner institutions and developers around Europe to define and manage experiment scientific requirements for on-orbit implementation.

Reinhold is a German physicist and ESA astronaut. He started as a research cosmonaut on the Russian Soyuz TM-25 spacecraft and spent 18 days on Mir. Since then he has participated in multiple missions and held manegerial positions at ESA.
